Commercial Electrician
Job Description
The Commercial Electrician is responsible for installing and maintaining electrical systems in commercial buildings. This role ensures all wiring and electrical components meet safety standards and comply with industry codes. The electrician will work from blueprints and diagrams to complete installations and repairs, frequently utilizing conduit and operating equipment such as scissor lifts.
Responsibilities
- Install wiring systems according to specifications
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and electrical codes
- Interpret blueprints and technical diagrams for accurate installations
- Install electrical conduit to protect wiring
- Operate scissor lifts safely for elevated work
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial electrical experience.
- Experience with new construction, remodels, and tenant improvement projects.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting:
- Conduit (EMT, PVC, Rigid)
- Electrical panels and switchgear
- Branch circuits
- Lighting systems and controls
- Receptacles and electrical devices
- Ability to bend and install conduit using hand and power benders.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
