Derrick Digger Operator
Job Description
The Derrick Digger Operator plays a vital role in construction and utility installation projects by operating heavy machinery to dig and manage materials efficiently and safely. Working primarily on construction sites and utility installations, this operator ensures precise equipment operation and load management while adhering to strict safety protocols. The position reports to the project manager or operations manager and typically involves 8-hour shifts with some local travel.
Must Have:
Valid CDL driver's license
Class A or F crane operator cert.
DOT Medical Card
Responsibilities
- Operate Derrick Digger equipment safely and efficiently
- Handle and manage materials during digging operations
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and procedures
- Manage load distribution to maintain equipment stability
- Coordinate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow
Job Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment operation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in operating Derrick Digger machinery
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures
- Effective team communication skills
